EPR and Waste Managment Services
Extended Producer's Responsibility (EPR) is a concept under which producers are given a significant responsibility- financial and/or physical for the treatment or disposal of products post-consumption
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is a crucial concept in waste and pollution management that places the responsibility for product disposal on manufacturers throughout the entire lifecycle of their products. It encourages companies to design more sustainable, eco-friendly, and recyclable products, while also optimizing manufacturing processes to reduce waste and environmental impact.
In India, EPR registration is mandatory for Producers, Importers, and Brand Owners (PIBOs) as per the guidelines set by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). We provide comprehensive support throughout the EPR process, including assistance with registration, compliance documentation, and end-to-end guidance to ensure adherence to CPCB regulations. As a registered recycler under EPR.
- Lifecycle Responsibility: EPR holds manufacturers accountable for their products from design through disposal, promoting sustainable practices.
- Environmental Cost Shifting: The initiative aims to transfer the financial burden of waste management from governments to producers, encouraging innovation in product design.
- Regulatory Compliance: In India, obtaining EPR Registration is mandatory for PIBOS, ensuring adherence to national guidelines for waste management.
By implementing EPR, companies can significantly contribute to a circular economy, minimizing waste and enhancing environmental sustainability.we offer responsible recycling solutions, helping companies fulfill their environmental obligations while contributing to a cleaner, sustainable future. Whereas we are eligible for providing category - I and II EPR Certificates.
KUSUM UDYOG’S EXPERTISE IN EPR COMPLIANCE FOR PIBO RESPONSIBILITIES
From reaching recycling milestones to handling rigorous reporting and compliance, the journey is multifaceted. Kusum Udyog offers a suite of expert services to support and simplify your compliance needs.
Collection: Kusum Udyog partners with clients and authorized waste aggregators to gather plastic waste. This includes arranging logistics and ensuring compliance with the collection targets set under regulatory guidelines, which is crucial for Category 1 (rigid plastics) and Category 2 (flexible plastics) waste.
collection
Sorting: After collection, the plastic waste is sorted by type and quality. Advanced sorting methods are used to separate Category 1 and Category 2 plastics accurately, ensuring the purity of materials before recycling. This step is essential for efficient processing and quality granule production.
Sorting
Recycling into Granules: The sorted plastics are then processed to create variety of plastic granules which are PP, LLDPE off-grade granules. The reprocessing involves shredding, washing, melting, and extrusion to form granules. These granules are high-quality, ready for reuse in new products and meet compliance standards for recycled plastic.
Recycling
Product Creation: Finally, the recycled granules are used to produce new plastic products. Kusum Udyog's inhouses a production facility for making plastic sutli using recycled granules. These granules have range of applications, supporting clients in meeting regulatory demands while promoting a circular economy by transforming waste into reusable resources.
